Help a Hajji – Healthcare Professionals – Important Opportunities

I recently received an email from The Council of British Hajjis (CBH), looking for volunteer Doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals.

With the cost of Meningitis vaccinations spiralling out of control, more and more communities around the country are setting up cost price vaccination services

The CBH are forging ahead in pioneering a low-cost vaccination service to all Muslims.

This started me thinking how I could convince these busy professional to take up the challenge for an extremely worthwhile and rewarding cause.

These professional who have invested in their careers to provide help to the needy only to find themselves consumed by balancing long working hours and family commitments.

Why should they volunteer when Muslim surgeries already provide a vaccination service at low-cost even though it’s restricted to registered patients?

As Muslims we have been taught to put others before us and this should be second nature. We live in a culture where it’s easy to be dismissive arguing that Pilgrims are spending thousands, so could easily afford to spend a little more. Instead of looking at helping to reduce already exorbitant prices, by assisting in lowering vaccination cost.

As Doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals you are in an enviable position which empowers you to provide this service to the guests of Allah and reap the spiritual rewards for your contribution.

Wouldn’t it be embarrassing if people went outside of their communities because this service wasn’t available and nobody was prepared to volunteer?

The CBH urgently need your help to carrying out inoculations for pilgrims. Let’s look at this in context, they are asking for 2-3 hours of your time one or two evenings a year.

On my part I‘m prepared to sacrifice my time to provide assistance and the infrastructure is ready for you.

To register your interest please email your CV to info@the-cbh.org.uk or call 0845 833 4145 (leaving your full name and contact number).

Anyone who would like to make a financial contribution to drive down the cost of the vaccination please contact The Council of British Hajjis (Pilgrims)

I’ve used this amazing service in Bolton, its time to bring this to our own communities. Please forward this information to all your contacts with the intention of finding volunteers to make this happen.
